BUSINESS JET’S RESPONSE TO COVID-19
1 MAY 2020
Business Jet’s highest priority is to protect the health and wellbeing of the people we serve, as well as those we serve alongside.
We are continuing to respond to COVID-19 by following all applicable guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), and other state and local agencies.
To mitigate the risk of spreading infection, Business Jet is taking the following precautions with regard to aircraft operations and company facilities.
The majority of all Business Jet office employees are working from home. For those who need to report to the office to complete their duties, we have increased spatial distancing.
Business Jet has educated employees on the best practices to stay healthy. In addition, Flight Crews will be subject to temperature checks prior to each flight.
We require employees to stay at home if they are not feeling well. In-turn, if charter passengers are not feeling well, we respectfully request that they reschedule their flight, or remove themselves from a flight in the interest of others aboard. As a precaution, Business Jet will not allow passengers showing visible signs of illness to board aircraft. All flight crews have been instructed to report illness discovered in-flight, and offer their assistance to separate passengers exhibiting flu-like symptoms from others passengers onboard as space allows.
Cleaning and Disinfecting:
For post-flight and pre-flight cleanings, our crewmembers use disinfectant products that are EPA-approved and effective at killing COVID-19.
Additionally, deep cabin cleanings are performed on our aircraft after every trip. All cleaning guidelines are overseen by the Business Jet Maintenance Team.
Business Jet is treating all aircraft interiors with PermaSAFE Long Term Microbial Control System and Surface Protectant. Effective on all interior surfaces, a PermaSafe System installation starts with an initial disinfection of the aircraft’s passenger cabin, air ventilation system and duct work, and cargo areas. The ecofriendly and EPA approved disinfectant eliminates over 99.9% of germs, bacteria, viruses, and other harmful microbes that can be hazardous to passenger health. Once clean, disinfected and deodorized, the spaces and surfaces are then blanketed with PermaSafe SHIELD Permanent Antimicrobial Surface Protectant.
CHANGES TO DOMESTIC TRAVEL:
While national airspace remains open to both commercial and private aviation, there are varying levels of response to COVID-19 from state and local governments across the country. We recommend that Owners and Charterers understand these measures and various quarantine implications before traveling. Our Client Services Team is able to provide assistance with travel requirements. Please note that travel documentation is required upon arrival by the state of Texas for those entering from the states of California, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, or Washington, or cities of Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit, or Miami.
Our Client Services Team will evaluate all flight details and request additional information concerning our Owners’ and Charterers’ previous or future travel plans to provide the best-tailored travel advice. Crewmembers will review our pre-screening questionnaires for passenger details from Client Services prior to passenger boarding.
Business Jet’s utilizes MedAire®, for 24/7 expert medical advice both on the ground and in the air. MedAire®, provides each of our charter aircraft with an integrated solution of expertise, education and equipment.
Both Business Jet Access and our FBO Business Jet Center remain operational during this time. Our steadfast commitment to customer service is not going to change. You will notice new precautions being taken, and increased efforts to disinfect the terminal and hangar facilities, as well as implementation of CDC guidelines for appropriate social distancing. Rest assured, you will also continue to see our team doing everything we can for you.
In order to remain operating while prudently protecting our team and our customers, separate facilities are now in place for aircrews on flights from State of Texas designated “Hot Spots” and from medical flights carrying patients fighting the Covid-19 virus.
The dynamics of this global health concern are changing rapidly. The CDC has a publicly available Geographic Risk Assessment for COVID-19 Transmission.
