1. How does private jet charter differ from traveling on commercial airlines?
Answer:
Chartering a private jet provides you with numerous advantages that commercial airlines cannot offer.
Differences include:
- Ability to reserve a private jet for the time that best fits their schedule
- Access to over 5,000 airports, whereas commercial airlines are limited to just over 500
- Passengers on private jets depart without waiting in security or baggage claim lines
- Jet charter offers passengers ultimate privacy during flight, enabling them to be as productive as they choose
- Customers are able to visit multiple cities within a day, which allows them to take full advantage of time and maximize efficiency
2. Are there additional advantages to chartering a private aircraft?
Answer:
Chartering a private jet offers the ultimate in luxurious travel.
Here are a few examples:
- Nothing can compare to the peace of mind private travel offers.
We consider the Federal Aviation Regulations to be minimum standards, and our flight crews far exceed those standards.
In fact, our flight crews are among the most experienced in the industry (See Safety Page for more details).
You can rest easy knowing that you and those flying with you are in good hands.
- No one enjoys the time and stress of waiting in a long security line at the airport.
All passengers on Business Jet Access aircraft have been screened through the TSA's No Fly List.
After your flight crew has verified your identification, you're on your way.
- Never worry about lost luggage or checking your bags.
When you arrive for your flight, you will be escorted directly to your aircraft.
Here, you will simply get out of your car and board the aircraft while your baggage is unloaded for you.

We can arrange to have your luggage picked up at your home or business and loaded onto the aircraft prior to your flight.
- Passengers can also decrease the cost of the flight per person by filling every seat (see packages link on the Charter page for more details)
- The luxury and space of a private jet allows passengers to be productive in flight, while offering more privacy and security than a conference room.
3. What are the costs of chartering an aircraft?
Answer:
Depending on the size of the aircraft, pricing can range from $1,000.00 - $8,000.00 per flight hour (see Packages link on the Charter page for per person pricing).
Additional fees can include any of the following: Wait Time, Overnight, Landing, Short Leg, International, Catering, Cabin Service Representative, and Crew expenses.
4. What is "Wait Time" and how is it billed?
Answer:
Wait Time is the billable cost for the downtime of the aircraft on a trip.
Trips are generally quoted based on a 2 hour minimum per day usage.
For example:
- A four day trip only has an actual flight time of 6.2 hours.
- 4 day trip = 8 hour minimum
- 8 hour minimum - 6.2 actual flight hours = 1.8 hours of Wait Time
- Wait Time multiplied by the hourly cost of the aircraft equals the Wait Time fee.
5. What are "Short Leg" fees?
Answer:
Short leg fees are defined as any point to point travel that is less than 400 nautical miles.
These are billed on a per leg basis, usually at approximately $200.00 each.
This fee is necessary in order to cover the additional cost incurred by short legs; because the aircraft has to fly at a lower altitude when traveling short distances, fuel burn average is much higher.
6. Is a Cabin Service Representative/Flight Attendant required?
Answer:
On smaller aircraft such as the light and midsize jets, they are optional.
On our large cabin aircraft, however, company policy requires a cabin service representative and/or a flight attendant for your safety and that of the aircraft.
7. Are BJA Charter Sales and Dispatch representatives available 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week?
Answer:
Yes! For your convenience, all Charter Sales and Dispatch reps are available 24/7/365 to assist you in your travel needs.
8. How do I reach Charter Sales after normal business hours?
Answer:
Simply call the main number, 1.888.387.7477, to reach a charter representative anytime, day or night.
9. What type of catering is provided?
Answer:
All charter aircraft are stocked with standard onboard snacks and beverages.
These consist of soft drinks, liquors & mixers, pretzels, chips, assorted candy bars, and chewing gum.
Through our network of catering vendors, we can also obtain any specific item or meals that you would like.
Any additional catering requested will be billed upon completion of the trip.
10. Where can I travel to?
Answer:
Chartering a private jet grants you access to thousands of General Aviation airports located throughout the United States and Worldwide.
We require a runway length minimum of at least *5,000 feet for all jet aircraft and 3,500 feet for turboprops.
*Weather conditions may require a longer runway.
11. What if Business Jet Access does not have an aircraft available for me to charter?
Answer:
If we do not have an aircraft available that satisfies your travel requirements, we will use our network of approved charter operators to obtain what you are looking for.
We only use operators that have successfully obtained a Wyvern® or ARG/US® Gold/ Platinum rating for your safety and protection.
12. Are there any cancellation fees?
Answer:
In the event a trip is cancelled 24-48 hours (CT) prior to the scheduled departure time, a cancellation fee equal to 10% of the charter flight hours, plus any nonrefundable costs will be charged.
If the trip is cancelled 24 hours or less (CT) prior to the scheduled departure time, a cancellation fee equal to 15% of the charter flight hours or 2 hours, whichever is greater, will be charged, plus any nonrefundable costs.
